The section contains specific information about the CSTC treaty negotiations and some information about treaty negotiations generally. The member First Nations of the CSTC have designated the CSTC to coordinate the negotiations with government (BC & Canada). The CSTC has been in negotiations with government since 1993 when the CSTC filed a Statement of Intent under the BC Treaty Commission process. 14 years have passed and no treaty has been signed. The CSTC has accumulated a debt of over $14 million dollars (CAN). These funds were aquired through a loan with the government. We borrowed this money because we thought we could resolve our greivances with government and build our governance authority to our unceded territories. After recent discussions, reports and decisions across BC, this may be proving to difficult unless directives and policies of government do not change.
